Анотація

У статті розглянуто питання зіткнення інтересів Сполучених Штатів Америки та Німеччини у регіоні Латинської Америки у роки Першої світової війни. Протистояння носило дипломатичний характер та полягало у відмові від «проникнення» німецького капіталу та фізичної при утності німецьких військових у країни латиноамериканського регіону. Протиріччя, які виникли у досліджуваному регіоні, врешті-решт стали однією з вагомих причин оголошення урядом США війни Німеччині.
