About the Journal
Kyiv Historical Studies is an electronic scientific journal devoted to topical issues of history and archaeology.
Date of foundation: 2015.
Founder: Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University.
Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University was established on December 26, 2023 by the merger of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and Municipal Higher Education Institution “Kyiv Academy of Arts” and is their successor (based on the decision of the Kyiv City Council of 23.06.2022 No. 4754/4795).
Publication interval: 2 issues per year (June, December).
The history of the journal: 23.02.2016 was received certificate of registration of print media series “History” series KV 21908-11808R number issued by the Ministry of Justice. Since 2017 the journal is a professional publication in the historical sciences. According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine №1643 of December 28, 2019 (appendix 4) journal was included in the category “B” of the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine. In 2023, in connection with active digitization in the field of science, the editorial team decided to abandon the printed version of the publication and switch only to electronic format. According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine №491 of April 27, 2023, the journal was included in the list of electronic scientific publications of category “B”/ By Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 582 dated 04/24/2024 (Appendix 6), information about the journal in the List of Scientific and Professional Publications of Ukraine (category "B") has been updated due to the change in the name of the founder. |
Problems: scientific researches of the journal highlight current issues of history (with no chronological, thematic or territorial restrictions), historiography and source, theory and methodology of history, and present a review of professional publishing. Preference is given to researches on urban history, especially the history of Kyiv.
The creative principles of editorial board: gnoseological pluralism, freedom of scientific creativity, openness to debate, promotion of communication in the community of scholars-historians.
Basic requirements for authors: the highest professional level of texts, providing their scientific novelty, the adequacy of selected research methods for the study of problems, diligence in the handling of sources and historiography on the topic of research, originality and validity of conclusions.
